Opening Thursday September 29, Field Projects is pleased to present the work of Not Even Home Will Be With You Forever, an exhibition that returns to the past and nostalgia framed in the context of the existential crisis gripping our society.

Not Even Home Will Be With You Forever is a group exhibition featuring 17 artists. Its title, which comes from a line in Okkervil River’s “Listening To Otis Redding At Home During Christmas,” illustrates a feeling of returning to your past, only to discover that you have changed and become someone new.

The work in this exhibition explores themes of existentialism, identity, and the confrontation of societal norms. Coming from varying stylistic directions, they meet at this point of exploration, questioning the moment and what it means. These ideas can be both nostalgic and freeing — as the memories of the past can draw you back in, or you can rejoice in having overcome the weight of what held you back from becoming whole.
