Three Falls Pass

solo exhibition

Curated by Tif XB

March 27 – May 3, 2025

Opening Reception: Thursday, March 27, 6-8

Field Projects presents Three Falls Pass, a solo exhibition by Trevor Warren. Warren's process-based approach creates paintings that operate on multiple visual planes—challenging how we prioritize and process visual information.

By pressing paint through unprimed canvas, staining, cutting, sewing, and reassembling composite pieces, Warren produces organic patterns resembling natural forms across different scales. These works oscillate between expansive landscape atmospheres and intimate, molecular paint splatters, rewarding both distant viewing and close inspection.

The exhibition explores the tension between fragmentation and construction. Warren deliberately incorporates cut pieces from previous works—sometimes years old—creating compositions where past experiments gain new context. This recycling process makes each painting a living document of artistic evolution–questioning how we construct meaning from visual information and experience of relating the part and whole.

Trevor Warren (b. 1996, Tacoma, WA) lives and works in Brooklyn. He attended The Johnston Center for Integrative Studies where he majored in Art and Environmental Studies. His work has been included in exhibitions at CANADA, East Hampton, NY; Halsey McKay, East Hampton, NY; Storage Gallery, New York, NY; Printed Matter, New York, NY; Incubator, Brooklyn, NY; Chophouse Row, Seattle, WA; Beatnik Lounge, Joshua Tree, CA; and Ann Peppers Gallery at the University of Redlands, Redlands, CA. Warren was nominated for an Emerging Artist Grant in 2023 by the Rema Hort Mann foundation. He holds a position at the artist-run gallery CANADA as the Manager of Publications and is a Co-Founder of the independent literary arts magazine Counterbound.
